This scheme allows people living in the UK to sponsor a named Ukrainian national or family to come to live in the UK with them, providing they have suitable accommodation to offer.<\/p>\n<p>This is a limited residence permit that does not lead to a permanent residence however, you are allowed to change to another type of visa within the country. You can stay in the UK for up to 3 years. You will be able to live, work and study in the UK and access public funds. There is no home office fee.<\/p>\n<p>After submitting the application form, you will need to visit the visa center and get a vignette (visa) for entry, which will be stamped in your passport, and then you can immediately open an account and apply for your e-visa.<\/p>\n<h2>Ukraine Permission Extension Scheme visa application<\/h2>\n<p><strong>The Ukraine Extension Scheme will be open for applications from 9:00 am on 4 February 2025 (UK time).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>An application for an extension can only be submitted 28 days before the expiration of the current permit under any of the Ukrainian schemes.<\/p>\n<p>When applying, you need to:<\/p>\n<p>\u2666Verify your identity<br \/>\n\u2666confirm that you are in the UK;<br \/>\n\u2666confirm whether you had permission to remain in the UK under the Ukrainian Scheme;<br \/>\n\u2666provide information about where you live in the UK;<br \/>\n\u2666provide information about all travel outside the UK and Ukraine since receiving permission under the Ukrainian Citizen Scheme.<\/p>\n<p>You must be in the UK at the time of applying for this programme.<br \/>\nIf you leave the territory of the UK and its islands (Jersey, Guernsey and Isle of Man), the application will be considered withdrawn. In this case, you will need to apply for a different visa category (Tourist, Work, Family, etc.) to come to the UK.<\/p>\n<p>Once your application is approved, your e-Visa will be updated to reflect your new Ukraine Permission Extension Scheme<br \/>\nFor the period of consideration of the application and after its approval, all the rights of the applicant remain the same: the right to study, the right to work, the right to social payments and benefits.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ukraine family Scheme<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The &#8216;Ukraine Family Scheme&#8217; program is closed for new applications.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ukraine Extension Scheme<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The \u2018Ukraine Extension Scheme\u2019 program is closed for new applications. Children born in the UK can apply for this category until 04.02.2025.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Ukraine Sponsorship Scheme<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>To apply to the Ukraine Sponsorship Scheme you must be Ukrainian, or the immediate family member of a Ukrainian national who has been granted permission under, or is applying to and qualifies for, the Homes for Ukraine Sponsorship Scheme.<\/p>\n<p><strong>You must also:<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022 have been residing in Ukraine on or immediately before 1 January 2022 (including those who have now left Ukraine)<br \/>\n\u2022 be outside of the UK<br \/>\n\u2022 have an eligible UK-based sponsor.<\/p>\n<h4>Short Guidance\/Instruction for Ukrainian nationals who arrived in the UK under the \u2018Homes for Ukraine\u2019 Scheme:<\/h4>\n<p>Every Ukrainian national who arrived in the UK under the \u2018Homes for Ukraine\u2019 Scheme will be entitled to a \u00a3200 interim payment to help with subsistence costs. This will be provided by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/find-local-council\">local council.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Ukrainian nationals who come under the Homes for Ukraine Scheme will have access to public funds and, after leaving the sponsor home, they will be able to rent a property like anyone else. If they need to, they\u2019ll be able to claim the housing part of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/apply-universal-credit\">Universal Credit<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/housing-benefit\">Housing Benefit.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Will the person (Ukrainian national who arrived in the UK) be eligible for benefits and\/or to work?<\/strong><br \/>\nThe UK has a welfare system that is designed to help those who face financial hardship, or who have specific needs. All those from Ukraine coming to the country under the scheme will be able to seek and take up employment.<\/p>\n<p>Your local <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/contact-jobcentre-plus\">Jobcentre Plus <\/a>will be able to help you find out which benefits your guest may be able to access.<\/p>\n<p><strong>This may include:<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/universal-credit\">Universal Credit<\/a> \u2013 a payment for those of working age, to help with your living costs if you\u2019re on a low income. You could be working (including self-employed or part-time) or be out of work;<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/pension-credit\">Pension Credit<\/a> \u2013 extra money to help with your living costs if you\u2019re over the State Pension age which is 66 in the UK and on a low income;<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/financial-help-disabled\">Disability benefits<\/a> \u2013 extra money to help with additional costs for those who have a long term physical or mental health condition or disability;<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/child-benefit\">Child Benefit<\/a> \u2013 extra money to help with the cost of raising a child.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Oyster Cards Discounts:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>CHILDREN UNDER 5 YEARS OLD TRAVEL FREE<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 <a href=\"https:\/\/tfl.gov.uk\/fares\/free-and-discounted-travel\/5-10-zip-oyster-photocard?intcmp=55572\">Travelcard discount 5-10<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 <a href=\"https:\/\/tfl.gov.uk\/fares\/free-and-discounted-travel\/11-15-zip-oyster-photocard\">Travelcard discount 11-15 <\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2022<a href=\"https:\/\/tfl.gov.uk\/fares\/free-and-discounted-travel\/16-plus-zip-oyster-photocard\"> Travelcard discount 16+<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 <a href=\"https:\/\/tfl.gov.uk\/fares\/free-and-discounted-travel\/18-plus-student-oyster-photocard?intcmp=54727\">18+ Student Photocards <\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 <a href=\"https:\/\/tfl.gov.uk\/fares\/free-and-discounted-travel\/60-plus-oyster-photocard\">Travelcard discount for 60+ <\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>What is the entitlement to housing benefits of someone coming to the UK under this scheme?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The sponsorship scheme assumes no rent will be paid.<br \/>\nWhere someone wishes to rent privately, or when the sponsorship ends, guests will have access to public funds and will be able to rent a property like anyone else. If they need to, they\u2019ll be able to claim the housing part of Universal Credit or Housing Benefit.
